Programs & Services
DeSales focuses its program activities in four main areas: housing development, property management, development consulting and technical assistance, and neighborhood improvement.
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Over its history, DeSales has been instrumental in generating over $45 million in housing investment in its service area. As a developer and owner of over 200 quality rental units in the Fox Park, Tower Grove East and Benton Park West neighborhoods, the organization has greatly improved buildings and blocks for which few, if any, feasible development alternatives existed. The organization also develops single family homes, which has been instrumental in the transformation of several key sections of the DeSales service area.
PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
Through its affiliate, Fox Grove Management LLC, DeSales provides professional property management for its multi-family real estate portfolio. FGM is dedicated to providing high quality management services to maximize the double bottom lines of neighborhood improvement and financial performance. DeSales, through FGM, also operates the Management Assistance Program (MAP), which provides management services to private multi-family owners. MAP is funded with CDBG funds from the city’s Community Development Administration.
DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
DeSales provides professional consulting services to organizations requiring assistance with housing and community development projects. Services include, project management, nonprofit administration, planning and community relations. DeSales also assists homebuyers and developers interested in living or investing in the area. Services include property acquisition and disposition, referrals for financing and contractors, tax credit assistance, and interface with city departments.
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT
DeSales supports the organizing efforts of individuals and community organizations within its service area. Efforts include crime prevention and safety, nuisance and problem property abatement, neighborhood planning, and beautification.
